Police secures conviction in Heinous crime and sentences accused to 10 years imprisonment in rape case in Ganderbal

*Ganderbal Police* secured conviction from the *Hon’ble Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Ganderbal* against one rape accused namely *Ghulam Mohammad Lone, S/O Abdul Samad Lone, R/O Pethpora Chattergul,* in connection with *FIR No. 27/2017 U/S 376, 451 RPC* of *Police Station Kangan.* The accused has been sentenced to *10 years* of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹1,00,000 (One Lakh Rupees).
The case was initiated on the basis of a complaint received on 13.04.2017 from a woman resident of Pethpora Chattergul (name withheld), who alleged that the accused had forcibly entered her house and raped her, which subsequently led to pregnancy.
The Hon’ble Court, after thorough trial proceedings and examination of evidence, delivered the judgment, bringing justice to the survivor.
The prosecution was diligently conducted by Learned Public Prosecutor Shafat Ahmad (PP Sessions Court Ganderbal), who represented the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the case.
The conviction highlights the unwavering commitment of the judiciary and law enforcement agencies towards ensuring justice in cases of crimes against women.
