The senior political leader of Ganderbal, Sheikh Ghulam Ahmad Saloora has welcomed the announcement of the sanction of ₹827.98 Crore for constructing and upgrading a 4-lane highway from Pandach to Manigam near Wayil bridge.
Saloora said this is encouraging that Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari has made the announcement but it should also be considered that people of Ganderbal have been suffering tremendously due to chocking of main road and congested traffic jams have become a norm.
He said if government wants to provide relief to the common people, then widening the Pandach-Wayil road is just not enough, instead LG administration should on priority clear the hurdle at Umarhair to enable commuters on Umarhair-Gadoora road a free and smooth traffic route which serves as an alternative to Ganderbal-Srinagar journey.
